THE BUTLER DID IT John Butler has had four chart-topping albums with the John Butler Trio – 2004’s Sunrise Over Sea , 2007’s Grand National , 2010’s April Uprising and 2018’s Home .

C rowded House sang about four seasons in one day. John Butler is doing four seasons in four albums. He’s mapped the seasons: One – heal. Two – begin again. Three – go “solo”, no trio. And four – band album perhaps, who knows? After seasons one and two (last year’s Running River and Still Searching ) comes season three: PRISM . It was not an easy album to make. Butler’s father died (the album features the tributes Leave the Rest to Earth and Let Yourself Go ) and less than two days later, his father-in-law also died. The artist was also dealing with his technical limitations in the studio – he planned to make the album entirely by himself, but “I eventually found myself in way over my head”. Butler was forced to enlist the
