We're outlining the fresh grooves (literal and aural) both confirmed and rumoured to be finding a spot on our turntables this year, so join us as we anticipate the needle-drops that'll launch some awesome new vinyl adventures (and have the potential to become favoured titles in your collection). The musical cosmos is set to explode with star power this year! Korn are apparently brewing a molten metal cauldron to follow up 2022’s lauded Requiem , and we’ll also reportedly be gifted a third album from Mermaid Barbie, AKA Dua Lipa , which follows RUMOUR HAS IT... breaking singles she’s cooked up over the last couple of years to set the scene ablaze with her sophomore effort, the follow up to 2018’s Invasion of Privacy. The label manager of electronic duo Justice , Pedro Winter, revealed on French radio several months ago that the band are planning to release their “comeback” album this year, their first record since 2016’s Woman. We’ve also heard whispers that symphonic metal lords Nightwish are planning to drop a new opus – which takes their sound into a “heavier direction” – early this year. On the home front, enigmatic pop maestro Sia is scheduled to twist the twin flames of sound and emotion into her tenth album; it’s entitled Reasonable Woman and is set to arrive sometime in Autumn. And as for our favourite busker-turned-superstar, Tones and I ? Having flung open the doors with 2021’s Welcome to the Madhouse, word is Tones’s “very different” (according to the lady herself) second record is on its way this year. 2020’s belter Future Nostalgia (and its sister record, Future Nostalgia: The Moonlight Edition of 2021).
