MAY 9, 1965 Charles Leslie Drayton is born in New York City, and is quickly identified as a child prodigy on the drums. Charley goes on to perform or record with Iggy Pop, Mariah Carey, The Rolling Stones, Herbie Hancock, Johnny Cash and many others. He joins Aussie band The Divinyls

in 1991, and marries frontwoman Chrissy Amphlett in 1999, to whom he remains devoted right up to her death from breast cancer in 2013. Drayton is currently part of the Cold Chisel line-up.
