What makes a gaming monitor different?

Look for AMD FreeSync, NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible, or VESA AdaptiveSync, which use VRR to help smooth gameplay when frame rates fluctuate. Add gaming-focused display technologies, HDR, and ultrawide or curved screen options, and the difference goes well beyond simply putting “gaming” on the box.

Does response time matter? Yes, particularly in fast games. Response time measures how quickly pixels can change, with lower figures helping reduce blur or ghosting during rapid movement. Some current OLED gaming monitors specify response times as low as 0.03ms (GtG) for particularly crisp motion. Is QHD or 4K better for gaming? It depends on your priorities and hardware. QHD (2560×1440) balances sharp detail with high frame rates, particularly on 27-inch monitors. 4K (3840×2160) steps up the detail for larger
