So, how do I get around using a keyboard with no arrow keys? Naturally a 60% keyboard needs to leave out some keys for space saving, including the familiar left, right, up, and down arrows keys. With the Clipper Pro Mini 60, there are three ways to recreate their functionality. Use Smart Tap to assign arrow keys to taps or holds on existing keys. Create custom arrow shortcuts using the Corsair Web Hub software. Simply hold down the FN key and use the keys at bottom right.

Not everybody has space for a full-sized keyboard, and some gamers subscribe to a “the smaller the better” policy. The Corsair Clipper Pro Mini 60 takes up just 60% of the space of a full-sized keyboard, while packing in advanced tech that’s usually reserved for high-end gaming gear. Words Amy Flower THIS CLIPPER IS A LITTLE RIPPER!

Useful features Despite its diminutive size, the Clipper Pro Mini 60 is pleasingly versatile. A key feature is Smart Tap, which lets you assign different actions to a quick tap of a key versus a long press, which is ideal for adding shortcuts without clutter. Multi-Action allows up to a surprising four commands on a single key, while Tap Lock turns long-hold actions such as in-game sprinting into simple toggles. Backlighting is a must on a keyboard, and the Clipper Pro 60 Mini delivers customisable per key RGB lighting, fully definable – and able to be stored on the unit - using the handy Corsair Web Hub. The Clipper Pro Mini 60 is also IP57 water and dust resistant, which means that accidental spills or dusty environments won’t trash your keyboard. Add its durable build, double-shot keycaps, and a detachable braided USB-C cable, and it’s as ready for performing at home as it is for travelling. The bottom line The Corsair Clipper Pro Mini 60 is a compact keyboard that doesn’t skimp on performance. Its magnetic switches, smart customisation features, and rugged build make it the perfect choice for gamers, but its comfort, speed, and space saving design also make it a great everyday keyboard for anyone who’s after a modern, minimalist setup.

I ts gaming credentials don’t mean that it isn’t perfectly suited to everyday users, though. Whether you’re gaming, working, or simply want a neater setup, the Clipper Pro Mini 60 offers a mix of durability and responsiveness. Coupled with clever features, it’s very easy to live with every day, whether you opt for one in black, or white. Make the switch! The headline feature of the Clipper Pro Mini 60 is its Hall effect MGX Hyperdrive Core magnetic switches, which use magnets instead of traditional mechanical contacts. This means that every key press is detected with excellent accuracy and consistency, and the switches won’t wear out in the same way that mechanical ones do. Rated for up to 100 million keystrokes, this makes this keyboard a smart long-term investment. And the keys still make a satisfying “clack” sound, too! Basically, think of Hall effect keys as being like automatic doors that open the moment a sensor detects you, while traditional mechanical switches are like push-to-open doors that rely on a physical latch that wears down over time. These clever switches also allow for adjustable actuation, meaning that you can choose how far a key needs to be pressed

before it activates. Do you want ultra-fast response for gaming? Then set a hair-trigger actuation of 0.2mm. Prefer a deeper press for typing? Increase it to 3.8mm. The Clipper Pro Mini 60 also supports Rapid Trigger, which is a feature that resets a key the moment that you start to lift your finger. This allows near-instant repeated inputs, which is perfect for fast-paced games. Combined with 8,000Hz hyper-polling, which sends your key presses to your computer up to eight times faster than standard keyboards, the Clipper Pro Mini 60 is built for – and delivers - speed.

The Corsair Clipper Pro Mini 60 Hall Effect Gaming Keyboard is available now.
