YOUR OWN PERSONAL YETI!

As well as displaying settings information in graphic form such as EQ type, mic pattern, and gain control, depending upon the mode the Yeti 2’s inbuilt screen also shows a cute and

built-in, so sweetening and vocal effects can be applied directly from the Yeti 2 itself. Interfacing The Yeti 2 user interface is designed to show what you want when you want it, with a 1.3-inch colour LED display providing visual feedback for gain, presets, and tracking status, while five onboard presets give quick access to common setups such as gaming, streaming, and podcasting. Getting around couldn’t be simpler, with a large dial just under the screen that rotates as well as clicking to select various functionalities. For deeper customisation, Logitech’s G HUB software unlocks additional audio settings, as well as custom display graphics and user-defined presets. The Yeti 2 is plug-and-play over USB, supports both Windows and macOS, and features a 3.5mm jack for monitoring. What’s in the box? Open the Yeti 2 box and, as well as the mic itself, you’ll find a desk stand, a two-metre USB cable, and, in a neat touch, rubber stoppers to pop in the holes left should you use a boom mount rather than the desk stand. Summing up If you’re a creator who wants a single, self-contained microphone that automates much of the technical stuff while still offering the option of fine tuning, the Yeti 2 is an attractive option. While it keeps the classic sci-fi rocket-like Yeti look, it adds genuinely useful features such as tracking, AI denoising, and on-mic DSP, which all combine to make broadcast quality sound a doddle to achieve.

The BlueYeti desktop microphone is a legend in content creation circles for its ease of use and versatility. Now it’s time for Logitech G’s Blue Yeti 2, an evolution that improves upon the original in a multitude of ways. Words Amy Flower READY, YETI, GO!

Who’s it for and what’s new? Aimed again at streamers, podcasters, and gamers, the all-new Yeti 2 combines studio-grade recording with smart, on-device processing. It pairs a redesigned three-capsule array with real-time AI processing and adds a very cool high-resolution colour display, so users can both hear and see what’s happening with their voice as they record. The specs The Yeti 2 records at 24-bit/48 kHz and covers a full audible range with a 20Hz–20kHz frequency response. The redesigned three-capsule array is tuned to deliver natural high-fidelity sound, while a quoted max SPL (Sound Pressure Level) of 129dB and a signal-to-noise ratio above 77dB mean that it has the headroom and clarity needed to handle loud sources, as well as close-mic work.

Physically, the Yeti 2 sits at roughly 289mm tall, is 110 mm wide, and weighs in at 995g, all combining to make it a pleasingly imposing desktop presence. There’s also a choice of black or white, so you can match your setup just right. A smart mic Where Yeti 2 offers more than many microphones is in its automation and on-mic intelligence. A voice proximity sensor tracks who’s speaking in three dimensions within a two-metre radius – so it detects where you are, then onboard processing auto-adjusts gain, EQ, and pickup patterns to keep your levels consistent, no matter how hyper you get – it polls an incredible 48,000 times per second! Meanwhile, built-in AI-powered denoiser options let users reduce unwanted room noise without having to send audio through a separate plugin, while Blue VO!CE DSP is
