as I have lots of collectables in there. It started when I worked as a music coordinator, all the way back in 2009 and learned that I could order vinyl for myself through Rocket. My prized possession though is a first pressing of Tango in the Night by Fleetwood Mac, that I “liberated” from my parents... Vinyl just adds a different dimension to listening to music, as it’s an experience to listen to it. Somewhere along the line, we devalued music by streaming it and compressing it, but vinyl brings back the experience of listening to records the way the artist intended, with all the little bits of ear candy that you don’t get on a compressed file. What do you enjoy most about working in music at JB? All the way back in 2008, people used to queue up for music and when an artist released an album it felt special, like you were part of an event. I remember when Kings of Leon released Only by the Night and we would struggle to keep the chart full because it was flying. Plus, I had the coolest regulars who would come in purely to chat and see what could be recommended to them based on what they listened to, as well as recommending me albums I would never have guessed to like. If it wasnt for my regular Pete, who also worked for Shock Records, I would never have found the band Thrice, and that would be a tragedy!

it came with Hotel California . I can remember being in a restaurant in Perth, unpacking it and listening to it on repeat. It was the sickest thing ever! Henry Carrington-Jones (drums, backing vocals): When we went to Perth to see my grandparents, Mum would always buy a book, while Dad and I would go to Urban Records and put the headphones on and listen to an album. I bought Coldplay’s A Rush of Blood to the Head . After that, my first vinyl purchase was Riding with the King by B.B. King and Eric Clapton, which I absolutely loved. It’s still definitely one of my all-time favourites.

What’s an early, cherished music memory? Asking for the first Spice Girls album and then making my whole family sit in the living room and listen to it back to front. Which recent album do you currently have on repeat? Sum 41 - Chuck (they recently played their last ever show in Toronto, so I’m reliving my little emo childhood). What’s your all-time favourite album and why? Nothing But Thieves - Moral Panic . Every song on that album is unskippable and it contains my first dance song with my

I probably would have finished my diploma and become an accountant. If I had, I probably would have ended up in jail – my accounting skills are hideous. Last album you bought?

Five words to describe yourself: Impulsive, reactive, risk-taker, music-lover, sports lover. Your all-time favourite album? Impossible. I love too many genres of music to have a favourite.
