STING Kiah Roache-Turner, the Aussie indie horror director known for Wyrmwood , returns with Sting , his most polished and accomplished film to date. Set in an American apartment complex, the movie follows a girl who befriends an alien spider and raises it as a pet. As it grows to a gargantuan size, it begins devouring the tenants. With influences from Alien and Arachnophobia , Sting promises plenty of heebie-jeebies and will make your skin crawl. 9/10/24 Horror MAXXXINE Ti West concludes his X trilogy with Maxxxine , a hardcore slasher that pays homage to '70s and '80s exploitation flicks like Angel (1984). The film follows X 's final girl, Maxine Minx (Mia Goth), as she pursues fame in Hollywood while the Night Stalker serial killer hunts her friends one by one. Co-starring Elizabeth Debicki, Kevin Bacon, and Halsey, Maxxxine delivers a gruesome, thrill-per-minute experience. 9/10/24 Horror COLD MEAT Brace yourself for this unflinching, critically acclaimed snowbound thriller starring Allen Leech ( Downton Abbey ) and Nina Bergman ( Hell Hath No Fury ). The film follows a man whose fateful mistake during a drive through a Colorado blizzard leaves him trapped at the bottom of a frozen ravine - stranded and surrounded by something sinister. This is a total nail-biter that will chill you to the bone. 23/10/24 Thriller ARCADIAN Nicolas Cage continues to dominate, consistently delivering unexpected bangers. His latest, Arcadian , is a post-apocalyptic horror film about a father and his teenage twin sons struggling to survive on a farmhouse in a decimated world. Interestingly, the film is directed by Benjamin Brewer, who was also the lead visual effects artist on the Oscar-winning Everything Everywhere All At Once , and he applies his visual flair to Arcadian very effectively.
Imagine being a former homicide detective with Alzheimer's, forced to revisit a brutal case that he can’t remember, as a man’s life hangs in the balance on death row. Thats what Russell Crowe’s character is up against in this gripping crime thriller co-starring Tommy Flanagan ( Sons of Anarchy ), Karen Gillan ( Doctor Who ) and Marton Csokas ( The Lord of the Rings ). 2/10/24 Thriller THE GILDED AGE From the creator of Downton Abbey, The Gilded Age returns for its second season, continuing the story of Marion Brook, a young woman navigating the affluent social scene of 1880s New York City. Starring Louisa Jacobson, Carrie Coon, Cynthia Nixon, and Christine Baranski, season two offers the perfect opportunity for newcomers to dive into season one, while longtime fans will be captivated by the ongoing class struggles of yesteryear. 2/10/24 DRAMA KILL Imagine John Wick and Bullet Train merging into one relentless, high-octane ride, with the violence cranked up to 11. That’s what you get with Kill , a brutal revenge thriller set entirely on a superfast express train from Ranchi to New Delhi. Watch as a commando’s life is destroyed before your eyes, triggering his instinctive rampage as he takes down one bad guy after another. Kill is a visual spectacle, but it's not for the squeamish. 2/10/24 World Cinema THE RAVINE The Ravine tells the true story of a small, tight-knit community grappling with an unimaginable tragedy, and their struggle to make sense of it all. Starring Eric Dane ( Bad Boys: Ride or Die ), Peter Facinelli ( On Fire ), and Teri Polo ( Meet the Parents ), this compelling drama is based on the award-winning novel of the same name. It explores themes of resilience, overcoming adversity, and the power of the human spirit.
