What’s your all-time favourite game or game series?

Alan Wake for the Xbox 360 is my all-time favourite game, but Pokémon is my favourite game series. I even have a tattoo of one of the Legendary Pokémon.

My attention at the moment has been divided between Helldivers 2 and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth . Mowing down bug aliens and robots for Super Earth, then saving the world as a pointy-haired blonde anime guy, are my two favourite things!

GAME CHANGERS! A YEAR IN GAMING As the PS4 and Xbox One continued to duke it out, Nintendo finally released their successor to the Wii U, and it quickly dominated the year…

It was an idea so simple, yet it hadn’t been done before. A powerful home console in a form that could be used portably just as easily as it could attached to the TV. Having seen the relative failure of the Wii U, Nintendo hit it out of the park with the Switch, combining a TV connected dock with a handheld unit, complete with easily removable controllers. Providing a platform for many of the top-notch Wii U games that many missed out on, the Switch has continued to hold its own against newer generation consoles from PlayStation and Xbox and has given us some incredible game experiences.

Arriving on the launch day of the Nintendo Switch as the system’s killer, must-have title, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was also the final first-party game released for

all-new Mario adventure Super Mario Odyssey stunned upon release, just seven months into the life of the Switch. A sandbox 3D challenge, it combined the familiar with the new in a sprawling

the Wii U. It was certainly a stunning way to go out for the Wii U, and to mark the arrival of the Switch. Taking five years to develop, it was set at the end of the Zelda timeline, with an amnesiac Link heading out to both rescue Zelda and save the world from Ganon’s destructive plans. A massive, non-linear open world greeted players, as did new systems including chemistry, as well as classic puzzles and numerous side quests.
