CHAMPIONS From Bobby Farrelly, the co-director of Dumb & Dumber , comes this hilarious and uplifting comedy. It stars Woody Harrelson as a hot-tempered basketball coach who has to lead a team of intellectually disabled players as part of a court-appointed community service order. In the vein of underdog movies like The Mighty Ducks and Bad News Bears , Champions is both hysterical and endearing and is sure to hit you in the feels. NO HARD FEELINGS The classic sex-comedy formula gets a shake-up when Maddie (Jennifer Lawrence) faces bankruptcy and accepts a new job as a date for a teenage boy with no confidence. Hired by his wealthy parents, she exposes him to a world of parties, drinking, girls and sex with hilarious outcomes. The movie is a throwback to the type made in the ‘80s and ‘90s, and pulls no punches when pushing envelopes. SISU The words ‘violent’, ‘brutal’ and ‘fun’ can all be used to describe this Finnish film about a former soldier turned gold prospector during the Lapland War. Our hero strikes it rich, but then has to haul his fortune across a war-ravaged landscape riddled with vicious German Waffen-SS. The outcome is a ferocious, ultra-violent and highly stylised one-man crusade that is best described as Rambo meets Inglourious Basterds , as the ruthless protagonist slaughters his way to prosperity. JACK RYAN: SEASON 3 John Krasinski returns for the third thrilling season of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan . Following the events of season two, Jack races against time to stop a rogue faction of the Russian government from restoring the Soviet empire and triggering World War III. COBRA KAI: SEASON 5 The creators of this Karate Kid spin-off couldn't have predicted how popular the series would become. Ralph Macchio and William Zabka return as on-and-off again rivals Daniel and Johnny, along with Martin Kove as John Kreese and returning hot-shots Xolo Maridueña, Peyton List and Mary Mouser. Thomas Ian Griffith also stars as Terry Silver from Karate Kid Part III in this action-packed fifth season that's crammed with '80s attitude and endless Johnny Lawrence zingers. INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE: SEASON ONE Anne Rice’s iconic gothic horror novel has been adapted for television by the makers of Boardwalk Empire , Weeds and Perry Mason . As with the 1994 film adaptation starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt, this critically acclaimed series tells the tale of Louis and Lestat, whose story is recounted to an inquisitive reporter and is explored with greater depth. The series is part of Rice’s shared Immortal Universe along with The Mayfair Witches , which is also available this month. Essential viewing for fang fans. 11/10/23 TV Action THE MEAN ONE First came Winnie the Pooh: Blood & Honey and now comes another classic children’s story adapted into a super-gory horror movie. This time it’s a big, green, furry creature in a Santa outfit who’s hellbent on killing the folk of Newville. But he didn’t count on Cindy (you-know-who) returning 20 years after his first rampage, to settle old scores. This outrageous slasher movie is a fun, tongue-in-cheek romp, with a big festive spirit and a twinkle in its eye. LAST EXIT Here’s an unexpected banger from the director of Cockneys and Zombies! Doing what M. Night Shyamalan’s Knock at the Cabin couldn’t quite muster, Last Exit is a disturbing home-invasion movie with dark secrets around every corner. Joely Richardson ( Red Sparrow ) stars as a dedicated mother with a catatonic husband, who defends her family against two sinister brothers who’ve sought refuge from a storm, but have ulterior motives.
