The type of beverage and roast of the beans determines the grind size, while the texture of the grind determines the extraction and flavour of the espresso. A grind that’s too coarse can result in watery, acidic coffee (and can also clog up the grinder), and a too fine grind can taste bitter. Choose a coarse setting for dark roasts and fine for light ones.
