After this year, our bodies are all in knead (sorry) of some pampering, and while getting to a masseuse hasn’t been easy in 2020, there are a number of options from a tech perspective that do an excellent job. Tech for the Body andMind continued

Homedics Shiatsu Elite II What is it? Elite by name, elite by nature, this is the complete set-and-forget solution for the tired back and crooked neck. It fits on a chair, although we set it up on the couch (where it remains) to deliver an effortless deep rub with continuous kneading knuckles while you chill out and watch your favourite show on TV. In fact, there are three massage styles on offer here: kneading, rolling and spot massage. Throw in heat functionality to get deep into the muscles and you have the complete package ready to go. Is it for me? Rather than highlighting specific spots, which this is indeed capable of doing, we see – and use – the Shiatsu Elite II as an overall service for knackered muscles or a spot of good old relaxation.

Beurer HandMassager What is it? As a benchmark of quality, all of Beurer's products are designed and manufactured in Europe, including this infrared handheld massager with interchangeable heads that you don't think you'll need until you have it in hand. The skinny on this is that it has two settings: massage and massage and heat – the heat being the infrared that penetrates the muscle and stimulates circulation. What sets this one apart is the fully adjustable speed and the long handle, so you can reach right down to the end of your back. The handle also detaches, leaving a handheld head that can target areas

like the neck with precision. So, what's the secret? The percussion massager works by delivering rapid blows that penetrate into the soft tissue. Is it for me? If you work out or just need to relieve those sore and stressed muscles, this should be on your shopping list.

Beurer MG151 Deluxe 3D Shiatsu Back &Neck Massager

What is it? Think of this as a neoprene band, where the middle is jam-packed with kneading rollers that work really deep into the muscle in any position on the body. The controls are located on the side of the band and have three intensity settings, with a heat function and the ability to reverse the action. Perfect for the back, shoulders and neck, a loop on each end of the band will allow you to determine how hard you want the massage to be. Is it for me? The MG151 will deliver deep and powerful kneading massage goodness right to where you need it. Who wouldn’t want that?

Shiatsu Elite Foot Massager What is it? A total treat for your feet, this Shiatsu will prove invaluable if you’ve been running around all day and need to get some blood pumping through your trotters. There are 12 heated massage nodes set on four heads that rotate to get deep into the areas where you need it most. Once your foot massage has concluded, simply click the power off with your toe. Is it for me? A deep foot massage while you’re watching a film is just what the doctor ordered.
