focus. On the one hand awesome gameplay is always a plus, however it’s hard to build a community if you’re too super-focused on the game and/or if you get “salty” if you lose. Always keep in mind – and this is vitally important – that when you are getting new people into the stream, you have approximately 10-15 seconds to get their ‘follow’, so interacting with your chat is essential. Back when

streaming was first a “thing” people usually watched them to be wowed by the exceptionally good gameplay being demonstrated by the streamer. But times have changed and streaming has evolved. There is a reason that the top category on Twitch is “just chatting”. People really want to get involved now instead of sitting in the shadows and watching. So I’d say don’t worry too much if your gameplay is lacking. Just laugh it off and

Hey Rob,

This is a very

easy question to answer but is going to depend on how you built your stream. Now what I mean by that is whether it’s about a community focus or gameplay

...you have approximately 10-15 seconds to get their ‘follow’...

get to know your people a lot more, it will also help you gain a lot

more interest from businesses as it gives you more time to

talk about their products! Thanks so much for your question and if you have any more questions regarding it, please stop by the stream! Duke

1 What was the first game that you played? My first real game was likely Super Mario Bros . My parents got us a Nintendo pretty early and Mario was always the included game in the box. The first games that really blew my mind were Sam & Max Hit the Road, MechWarrior 2 , and Command & Conquer: Red Alert . Those were a BIG deal in my house. 2 What was the last game that you finished? Cuphead . I’ll take this time to brag about that – I’m pretty proud of myself there! 3 What’s your favourite game of all time? A brutal question for a person like me! I’m going to give you a short list: Baldur’s Gate, Portal, Sam & Max Hit the Road, Team Fortress 2. 4 What do you think is the most underrated game of all time? Thief II and Thief: Deadly Shadows . I mean, they get held up there, but not nearly high enough. 5 What’s the game that you most wish you’d worked on? I’m always looking forward. I’m super-excited for inXile’s future games. That’s my real, genuine answer.
