Deftly combining family drama with the exploitation of the boundaries of what’s legal and illegal in a way only previously equalled by The Sopranos , the seventh season of Ray Donovan scarcely lets us catch our breath. For the uninitiated, the series revolves around Ray (Liev Schreiber) – who’s basically a “fixer” for the rich and shameless – and the rest of his Boston-born brood, including brothers Terry and Bunchy. These 10 episodes

see an old misdeed coming back to bite Ray when a previously disposed disembodied head washes up. Bunchy, meanwhile, unwittingly becomes a hero, while Terry continues to battle Parkinson’s and personal demons. As for their dad, Mickey? Could he finally have met his end? AF

30,000 Feet – with a twist. Other tales involve a stand-up comic with a deadly punchline; a Christmas-themed creature feature; and a camcorder with the ability to rewind time.
