There’s an impressive list of car makers, including Toyota, Mazda,
Porsche, Audi, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Mercedes, and Ford. How closely have you worked with manufacturers to ensure authenticity in all aspects of their in-game vehicles? We work very closely with the manufacturers. All cars are officially licensed, and we stay in constant contact for approvals. We also run a Factory Driver Program, where professionals and factory drivers from multiple brands test and provide feedback on handling and vehicle behaviour. This real-world input is invaluable in fine-tuning the simulation experience. Ultimately, in what ways do you plan to advance the racing game genre with Project Motor Racing ? We want to build a long-term platform for serious racing fans. With the Year 1 Season Pass, we’ll continue to expand the game throughout 2026, adding new cars, entire classes, and new tracks. For us, Project Motor Racing is only the beginning of an ongoing journey to redefine what a true racing simulation can be.
GIANTS Software is renowned for the highly successful Farming Simulator games. What prompted the decision to enter the fast paced world of racing games with Project Motor Racing ? When we decided to self-publish Farming Simulator , we built a publishing structure in one of our offices that also allows us to bring titles from other developers to market. At first, we used this to come up with new content for our Farming Simulator franchise, but were always open for discussions about new projects. So, expanding our publishing portfolio within the simulation genre felt like a natural step. Straight4’s experience and track record in racing simulations were an ideal fit for that ambition. Straight4 have serious racing experience in their ranks from working on the Project CARS series. How has this collaboration played out? Excellent! We’ve been working with the Straight4 team for years now, and the cooperation has been outstanding. It’s an open exchange between us, and they’re using our proprietary GIANTS Engine for Project Motor Racing , which shows its versatility.
How did you go about adapting the GIANTS Engine for fast-paced action? Using our own engine was part of the initial idea – a flexible and cost-efficient solution, with a proven record to support modding. Straight4’s developers are now working directly with it, and we’re very happy with the outcome. It really highlights how adaptable the engine is. In Farming Simulator , it needs to handle vast fields, track dynamic growth stages across entire maps, and manage countless variables. In Project Motor Racing , the gameplay area is much smaller – a race circuit in the end – but the calculations are just as complex, involving elements like rubber build-up on the racing line, grip evolution, overheated surface behaviour, authentic drying/drainage behaviour, and, of course, realistic car physics. Where will the line be between arcade action and full-on simulation? Will it be easy to pick up for those new to the genre? Project Motor Racing caters to every type of racing enthusiast. The single player career mode offers different difficulty levels, making it accessible to both newcomers
and seasoned pros. There are assist options like a racing line for beginners,
