Or maybe you only shave when your beard starts making you twitch like a werewolf during a full moon. However you approach it, shaving can feel like a chore – and sometimes a painful one. Traditional razors are time-consuming, messy, and can leave you with nicks, cuts, or razor burn. Which is exactly why making the switch to an electric shaver makes perfect sense.

Even refill blades for reusable razors can be surprisingly pricey. An electric shaver solves a lot of these issues in one neat package. They’re portable, easy to use, and many are packed with features designed to make shaving quicker, gentler, and more precise. Maintenance is simple, and with the right care, a good electric shaver can last for years. Today’s electric shavers fall into two categories – foil or rotary. The technology hasn’t changed drastically since the 1960s, but the performance certainly has. Foil shavers with tiny holes that guide hairs inside to be trimmed. Modern foil shavers are flexible enough to follow the curves of your face, making them especially good for precision work along the chin, neckline, or even the back of your neck. Foil shavers tend to deliver a closer shave and are gentle on sensitive skin. They’re particularly effective on short or fine hair, and are ideal for those who shave daily.
