Customising multi speaker audio
Why settle for one-size-fits-all sound? Today’s audio tech can be smart enough to understand how you hear, and tailor every note, beat, and voice to your personal sound profile. Words Bec Summer CUSTOMISING YOUR SOUND
Flexible setups can give you greater control – a powerful party speaker can anchor the bass, while satellite speakers handle clear mids and highs. A Bluetooth speaker can be paired with another compatible speaker to deliver true stereo separation, or linked in a chain for an even bigger and wider soundstage that can extend to the entire home. With a seamless multi-room audio setup, your music can follow you through different rooms, or play in sync throughout the whole house during a get-together. Depending on the features offered by AV receivers and wireless speaker systems, home theatre setups could also be customised for instant switching and channel reassignment, enabling rear or surround speakers to swap roles. Customising multi-speaker sound is another way to enjoy personalised audio; tailoring sound to suit your space and mood via easy in-app settings.
Earbuds that understand your hearing!
Expand your sound
Denon’s PerL Pro earbuds use a science-based method of sound customisation called Masimo Adaptive Acoustic Technology (AAT), for an even more personal touch. The buds actively measure how your ears respond to different tones, and create a sound profile based on that unique data to deliver audio based on your hearing strengths. Music can sound richer, podcasts clearer, and every beat is finely tuned to how you actually hear. So, how does it work? It all starts
with otoacoustic emissions (OAEs) – tiny sounds your inner ear naturally emits in response to hearing a tone. The earbuds play a sequence of test tones that are detected by inbuilt mics.
Bose Soundlink Flex Portable Speaker (Gen 2)
Data is analysed to determine how your ears respond across different frequencies, and an audio profile is created just for you. The tech is seamless, smart, and surprisingly effective in bringing out fine detail and audio nuances you might’ve missed before.
