# 1 MY FIRST ALBUM
Which recent album do you currently have on repeat? The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess by Chappell Roan.
The first album I ever bought was Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged in New York when I was 12. I saw a video of the song The Man Who Sold The World and my whole world stopped. I was just stunned by Kurt Cobain’s charisma and authenticity and his heart-on-sleeve performance style. He made me want to play guitar and remains an inspiration to this day. I saved my pocket money and bought the cassette from Tower Records in Singapore where I was growing up. I was just blown away from the first applause. I would play it so much I wore out the tape. I went on to buy the CD and now I own it on vinyl. They were a live band and recorded very quickly live, and that is how we work in Sweet Talk, too. I truly believe rock ’n’ roll needs to be raw and captured honestly, and this record has all that and more. DAVE TURNER SWEET TALK

I wouldn’t mind being Brandi Carlile. Singing like a literal angel, living on a ranch surrounded by pets, with twins in her band … sounds pretty good to me. What’s the most ridiculous item you’ve ever put on your rider? I don’t think I have anything in the ridiculous category at this stage. My rider usually consists of tea, bananas, soda water and an iron. Hardcore!
Your funeral song? In honour of the soundtrack to my year: We’re All Gonna Die Someday by Kasey Chambers. Happiness is… Playing music on stage with my sisters. Reading in bed. Cosy coats in winter (very excited to be entering coat season). Travelling with my partner Toby. Any of the above!
Five words to describe yourself: Passionate; creative; impatient; extrovert; sister. Your all-time favourite album? The Chicks – Home . What did your most memorable school report say? Probably something about being a chronic people-pleaser. What would be your Hard
Song you wish you’d written? Tami Neilson’s King of Country Music . If you weren’t a rock star, what would you be? I think I’d still work in music, as a music manager or radio host or something along those lines. Last album you bought? Maren Morris – Dreamsicle . Aside from yourself, which musician would you most like to be?
Quiz expert subject? All things Dolly Parton
