Atten-tion! Forget about polishing your boots, soldier, it’s time to get into a polished reboot, as Call of Duty’s Modern Warfare series returns, rebuilt from scratch on a new game engine. With a swathe of 2019 tech improvements, there’s a whole lot for CoD fans to deep dive into. For starters, there’s an overarching plot delivering a “raw, gritty, provocative narrative”

We may not fully understand terms like “physically-based material system” and “photogrammetry”, but we know that they mean that we’re in for a treat.

Hack, slash, club and crossbow your reincarnated way in a quest to take down evil sorcerer Zarok – again – and save the kingdom of Gallowmere – also again! MEDIEVIL RPG specialists Obsidian return to the fray with a trip into the future. Build your character then awake many, many years after your colonist ship took off, only to discover that while you were sleeping a deep conspiracy has emerged to destroy the colony of Halcyon. You’ll lead your crew, explore the colony and deal with all manner of factions vying for supremacy in this first-person quest. THE OUTER WORLDS With the superstar of the family prepping for the Tokyo Olympics, it’s up to his bro Luigi to keep Switch gamers happy, and this latest in a series that kicked off on the GameCube sees the green-clad guy really stepping up. Launching on Halloween, it’s spooky central, as you take on King Boo’s latest nasty subterfuge in the Last Resort Hotel. Go Luigi – conquer your fears and save your posse!
