O ctober is the month for Halloween creepiness, so here's a creepy sum: Paul Kelly was born in 1955. Add up 1+9+5+5 and it makes 20, then minus the number of songs on his new album Nature – 12 – and you get 8. Times that by 24, because Nature is Kelly's 24th studio album, and you get 193. And what is 1+9+3? That's right: spooky 13. I hope you haven't messed your trousers. You can get the Preen out after you have read our insightful chat with Kelly, as well as interviews with our stellar cover artist John Butler, the ever- amazing Cat Power, emerging soul-pop vocalist Cloves, punk legends The Living End, and more.
