It’s fair to say that Call of Duty’s foray into future warfare was a bridge too far, and my word, didn't the fans of the series let Activision know about it! The last few entries in the canon had more in common with the Killzone franchise than Infinity Ward’s original blueprint, and sales reflected this disharmony. Fortunately, they listened, and next month comes the CoD title that fans of the franchise have been waiting for. Helmed by Sledgehammer Games, Call of Duty: WWII returns to the battlefields of war-torn Europe in 1944 as the Allies begin to push Hitler’s armies back to Germany. Expect a compelling single-player campaign and a host of new multiplayer modes as CoD goes all out to reclaim its shooter crown.
