Release Date: 15/11/17

Legion may not follow the hardest hitters of the X-Men comics, but it’s quite possibly one of the best superhero shows on TV at the moment. Not bad in a market oversaturated with the genre. David (Dan Stevens) has been plagued by mysterious visions since birth, and as a result, his sister decides to have him committed. Of course, Dan is a mutant – quite possibly one of the most powerful mutants on the planet. He befriends a bunch of Xavier’s other soon-to-be-recruits and aims to take down the anti-mutant government force dubbed

England, post-war. Winston Churchill is democratically re-elected, his efforts during his nation's hour of need casts a long shadow over the monarchy. What is their role to be in this new dawn? This highly acclaimed, Golden Globe-winning series explores a crucial period within Buckingham Palace, where its royal residents are at risk of occupying a gilded cage. Pivotal is the young Princess Elizabeth (Claire Foy); a chain of events sweep her inexorably to the throne, and as the nation's new (and young) figurehead, it is upon her to resolve the conflict

Division 3. Legion is quite simply gripping television, but defies easily categorisation as one particular type of show. It’s funny, moving, hard- hitting, stylish, and helped along largely by some wonderful casting and knockout production values. Highly recommended. AK

between tradition and progress. Woven within these grand themes is the minutiae of royal life (few would suspect the particular protocols of hunting trips), plus a few tantalising scandals. Exquisitely produced and performed, this a historical series fit for a queen. AC

Better Call Saul just keeps getting better. The third season sees lawyer and trickster Jimmy McGill now on the cusp of becoming the character that Breaking Bad fans know and love. It also strengthens the narrative ties with its sibling series, introducing Mike's new employer – who runs a certain chain of fast food chicken restaurants – and edging Hector Salamanca closer to that wheelchair and bell. Jimmy's slippery slope into moral turpitude includes winning the trust of rest home residents before mercilessly screwing them over, as

If you're serious about sci-fi, The Expanse will give you the same rush you felt when you watched the new Battlestar Galactica . Adapted from the series of novels by James S.A. Corey, this is grand space opera blended with detective noir and geopolitical intrigue – a speculative look into a near future where humankind has colonised the solar system, but still has all of today's problems. Conflict is brewing between Earth, Mars and the Asteroid Belt. Belter detective Miller (Thomas Jane) is on the trail of the missing daughter of a business

well as a chain of events that bring the conflict with his estranged brother Chuck to its zenith, with tragic consequences. After numerous nominations, surely the wonderful Bob Odenkirk deserves an Emmy and/or Golden Globe for his knockout performance. SH

tycoon. And Captain Jim Holden (Steven Strait) and his crew have discovered evidence of a cosmic conspiracy that threatens humanity. How these three plot threads intertwine makes for compelling viewing – even if you don't consider yourself a sci-fi geek. SH (See page 20)
