The line between CGI-animation and live-action has become increasingly blurred and The Lion King convincingly masquerades as the latter, boasting arguably the greatest computer-generated imagery committed to the screen to

Director Jon Favreau has followed up his Jungle Book remake with Disney’s most ambitious endeavour, conjuring photo-realistic characters against predominantly digital backdrops and delivering a truly jaw-dropping experience. Although far removed from the vehicular extremes of the franchise that spawned it, one key tenet of F&F lore carries over – the importance of family. And it’s a theme almost as prevalent as the insane, over-the-top stunts. Bullets fly the minute Hobbs & Shaw gets rolling, setting the pace for a couple of hours of gloriously preposterous action that scarcely lets up. AF (See page 22)

bloke Deckard Shaw (Statham) join forces after Shaw’s sister Hattie (Kirby) steals a nasty human-engineered virus that melts people from the inside. Of course a bunch of nefarious types want to get hold of it, including the superhuman Brixton Lore (Elba). Can a combination of American and British muscle and guile outdo him?
