BLU-RAY BEST-SELLERS for JUNE 2017

A s Hollywood's Monsterverse gets under way with Kong: Skull Island and Godzilla: King of the Monsters (currently shooting for a 2019 release), the latter makes a resurgence in his native Japan in Shin Godzilla – out July 19 as a JB exclusive edition featuring alternate artwork.

With its highly stylised visuals and knockout VFX, it's a perfect fit for the format and an essential purchase for fans of the manga – and ScarJo of course. Out July 26. Guillermo del Toro's The Devil's Backbone (2001) is the perfect companion to his award-winning Pan's Labyrinth . Set in an orphanage during the Spanish Civil War, this potent combination of gothic ghost story and childhood innocence lost is one the director's finest films and looks exceptional in HD. Out July 5. The four short films that comprise horror anthology XX (2017) have the distinction of being written and directed by women.

Pacino, De Niro and, err, Kilmer is the hot catalogue title to grab this month, with a fully loaded 2-disc set hitting the shelves on July 26.
