It’s good to have that theory behind you as well, because you can hear the songs that are in key, you can break down a track, which helps with the production side of things because you’re not just winging it, you’re got a little bit of a plan.” Having supported Tigerlily's solo tour and Rudimental and Peking Duk's Vanfest stint during their various visits to Dubbo, Caleb’s now taken a step back to re-discover what it was he loved about DJing in the first place. “To build the passion for it again,” he explains. “It’s easy to lose yourself to that whole popularity thing, finding gigs, travelling. It turns more into a task rather than a passion that you once had.” Keep an eye out for Caleb coming to a Vanfest, Defqon or pre-drinks near you soon.

W hen Caleb Watmore started at Dubbo’s brand new JB Home store in September, he was listening to a lot of underground dance and trap. “I’m a big hardstyle head,” the DJ and producer says. “Its your uptempo, 150bpm, really hard dance music – you’ve got your Melbourne bounce and house which is sitting around 128bpm, but this goes one step further.” He still loves his dance, but listening to some of the other wares in-store prompted new appreciation for a number of existing acts. “Empire of the Sun’s new
