Recent ARIA queen Courtney Barnett will be turning up later in the month too, but before then I’ll be imbibing a bit of elegant culture with So Frenchy So Chic in the Park. The enchanting Lou Doillon will be performing tracks from her new album Lay Low , which is sure to be a wonderful experience, coupled with the kind of gourmet cheese and charcuterie boards I plan to devour. After that I’m going bush for the fantastic display of Aussie talent that is the Tamworth Country Music Festival. It goes from January 15 to 24, and I’m hoping to get my ears around Brothers 3, Lee Kernaghan, Caitlyn Shadbolt, Josh Rennie- Hynes, and of course attend the always incredible Busking Championships. The conclusion to the fest is the Toyota Golden Guitar Awards, which celebrate the year’s outstanding achievements in country music. I suppose I’ll have to rest a bit after that menu of musical goodness, because we all must have full energy reserves for Wu-Tang Clan in February. Bring da ruckus, and keep your head in the music.
