Quite possibly the best way to warm up for Shadow of the Colossus (without simply playing one of the two previous versions) is to tackle Monster Hunter World . Simultaneously released worldwide for the first time in the franchise's branching history, it's a great level of entry for newcomers to Monster Hunter as well as a challenging addition (when you want it to be) for series veterans. Monster Hunter World disposes of the between- world loading screens, instead offering you a seamless transition from one place to the next. This may sound like a good thing, but don't be confused; it also means

the monsters chasing you can track you further than before. Stay on your toes! You'll still get a little Palico follower to help you out, but of course you can call on your mates to give you a hand if you find yourself in a spot of bother with a particularly difficult monster. Instead of levelling up your avatar, Monster Hunter World lets you level up individual gear, so be prepared to put real work into your best-looking kit to make it the most effective it can possibly be. Killing monsters will give you the resources you need to upgrade your weapons and armour. Monster Hunter World is easily the most accessible, and one of the most enjoyable, Monster Hunters to date.

Finally, a 2.5D fighting game for Dragon Ball on the current generation of consoles. Dragon Ball fans have been hanging for a true fighting game adaptation (Xenoverses aside) for their much-loved series for a while now, and it's safe to say this one will be a certified Kamehameha.

Though there aren't quite over 9,000 characters to choose from, chances are you'll be able to fight as your favourite (whoever that may be), with everyone from Beerus and Cell to Future Trunks, Final Form Frieza, and of course Gohan, playable in-game. Don't forget, too, that it's 3 on 3, meaning if you can't decide, it might be a bit easier to choose three. You can take on your mates or AI in just a plain old battle mode, or you can take on a story and test your true power level as part of one of three arcs. The campaign mode also introduces a new character designed specifically for Dragon Ball FighterZ - Android 21. You'll love her. Don't worry if you're not necessarily a fighting game champion (we hear you); there's a training mode that'll teach you the ropes. And if you''re just here for the Dragon Ball, you'll definitely be able to enjoy the game as well. The best part is, they've still got at least eight players on the roster left to release. Get excited!
