Part 2 of our look at the gaming picks of 2018 – provided none of them get delayed, of course. Could we really see another Last of Us game this year?
Part 2
Red Dead Redemption 2 Rockstar Games have been so busy extracting dollars from the brilliant GTA V , a gift that keeps on giving, that until the announcement trailer for RDR 2, we actually thought they’d forgotten that they make games. While no dates are yet confirmed and given the developer’s previous release history, you’d be putting your money on May. The Last of Us Part II There would be few amongst us not excited about the prospect of this sequel from premiere developer, Naughty Dog. And if the brutal second trailer that even STACK ’s resident horror buff struggled to watch is anything to go by, the fight for survival has become even more desperate for our protagonists. But where exactly is Joel?
Death Stranding While the release date for Hideo Kojima’s keenly anticipated Death Stranding remains TBA, we’re hoping that 2018 will be the year we see it; although it was in our ‘Games to look our for in 2017’ a year ago. The Walking Dead ’s Norman Reedus and Hannibal 's Mads Mikkelsen head up the lead roles, with Guillermo del Toro also playing a part. Anthem Due – at this stage – in late 2018, BioWare’s spectacular looking brand new IP, Anthem , is a sci-fi online action RPG. Coming from the studio behind Dragon Age and Mass Effect, the game is being touted by some observers as EA’s answer to the all-conquering Destiny series. Days Gone Two E3s have passed yet we’re still yet to see this one – hopefully this year then. Judging by the opening gameplay trailer, Days Gone looks like a cross pollination of The Walking Dead and Sons of Anarchy . An open- world survival horror, you play as a biker attempting to survive in a post-apocalyptic setting. Sign us up! Kingdom Hearts 3 Sora is once again joined by Donald and the rest of the crew in Kingdom Hearts III , closing out the Dark Seeker saga of the KH games. Poised tentatively
for launch this year, it will be great to finally see another full release in the Kingdom Hearts universe – we’ve been waiting a long time.
