When we last saw John Rambo, he was decimating the Burmese military while rescuing a group of missionaries. Now the weathered warrior is enjoying a quieter life on an Arizona ranch and playing father figure to teenager Gabrielle, whose real dad abandoned her when she was a child. “I haven’t changed,” he growls, “I just try to keep a lid on it every day.” That lid gets blown completely off when Gabrielle absconds to Mexico to find her dad and is subsequently abducted by a drug cartel. It’s Taken , albeit with Rambo’s own special set of skills.

They may be good but that doesn't stop them from behaving badly. Playing like Superbad for sixth graders, the latest raunchy comedy from producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg chronicles the misadventures of a trio of 12-year-old buddies over the course of a day, which includes a mission to recover a lost drone, scamming beer for a party, and winding up with a bottle of stolen pills. Whether it's talking dirty or innocently playing with adult toys, Good Boys gets big laughs from its pint-sized

If you thought 2008’s Rambo was excessively violent and OTT, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet! Last Blood earns its R-rating during the final act, and if this is indeed Rambo’s last hurrah, it’s an appropriately ferocious farewell. SH (See page 20)

performers – Jacob Tremblay, Brady Noon and Keith L. Williams – and possesses a sweetness that strangely gels with the crass humour. Easily one of the funniest films you'll see over the holidays. BS
