You are Aloy – a seasoned huntress cast out from her tribe who must now fight to discover how she fits into the world and what her true heritage is. This world, by the way, is full of giant machine predators of unknown origins, from the relatively-harmless Watchers to the dreadful Thunderjaws. These unforgiving creatures will use different attack (or defence) mechanisms against you, whether it be taking you down in packs or overwhelming you with sheer size. The crafting system is simple but effective, borrowing from the best bits of the genre, and the combat is smooth, with Aloy's weapon cache being highly customisable and widely varied. With its seamless combat and open-world interaction, world and enemy design, and rich story, there's not much to criticise when it comes to Horizon Zero Dawn . It's one you need to check out for yourself.
