W ow, it’s already been 20 years since one of the best comedies of the century hit our screens! Now the theatrical version of the trip into a local TV newsroom of the 1970s comes to 4K Ultra HD, via a native 4K presentation that includes Dolby Vision
enhancement, that’s coupled with a DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack to deliver every cracking, eminently repeatable line. Ron Burgundy, Veronica Corningstone, and, of course, Brick Tamland will never have looked so classy. Out July 3
THE RAID In 2011, director Gareth Evans unleashed one of the greatest martial arts action flicks of all time in The Raid , and now it’s been given the works for this stunning 4K release. Evans has overseen the Dolby Vision treatment
for the native 4K transfer, which comes complete with original Indonesian and also international Dolby Atmos audio tracks. Three commentaries are on the 4K disc, while a bonus standard Blu-ray is packed with extras including peeks behind the scenes, a Q+A and more. Out July 3
DELICATESSEN, THE CITY OF LOST CHILDREN, PEEPING TOM A trio of top titles comprise the latest releases in the excellent line of Classics Remastered from StudioCanal. Delicatessen , the wild collaboration between directors Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Marc Caro, leads the charge, with a new native 4K transfer with Dolby Vision, and French DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 sound. Extras include a commentary, interview, and retrospective. The same duo’s fantasy adventure The City of Lost Children has also undergone a native 4K restoration with Dolby Vision, coupled with DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 sound in both original French and an English dub. Bonus features include two commentaries and a making-of. Finally, Michael Powell’s serial killer classic Peeping Tom has also been restored, delivering native 4K with Dolby Vision, and Linear PCM sound. Extras include a commentary, and several featurettes. Out July 3
THE CROW (1994) The incredibly stylish Alex Proyas directed tale of an avenger who returns from the grave has been high on many 4K fans’ wish lists, and it’s now coming home in a JB-exclusive collectible steelbook edition. On the technical front, we’re in for a native 4K transfer that’s aided by Dolby Vision. Sound-wise, prepare for a wild DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1
PURPLE RAIN Music icon Prince’s feature film debut remains a must-watch, and now that can be accomplished with the video looking better than ever thanks to a digitally restored, native 4K transfer that’s coupled with HDR enhancement. The killer soundtrack, including classics like When Doves Cry and Let’s Go Crazy , comes to us via DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. In the extras department, an audio commentary leads the way,
