Every year, as Australia shrugs off a holiday hangover and looks to return to work, a huge consumer show opens its doors in Las Vegas.With the eyes of the world on the Consumer Entertainment Show (CES), this is the one chance for the big tech global tech companies and budding startups to show off their wares for the coming year – and beyond. It’s where the latest consumer technological developments are laid bare, and the coming trends are predicted. And amidst the hugeTV screens, throbbing sound systems, and space age cars seemingly dragged straight out of a Mandalorian script, you’ll always find the weird and the wonderful. While not everything on display at CES 2024 will end up releasing in Australia, the following are some of our favourite picks from the biggest tech show in the world.

latest generation Alpha 11 AI processor and nabbed a bunch of CES awards. Hisense TVs: Bigger and brighter The war cry with TVs this year seems to be “go big!” and Hisense is joining the fray with the addition of a giant 110-inch UXAU model to their ever-growing line-up. Another constant in the quest to bring us better home viewing is improved brightness and clarity, and Hisense is promising this across their ranges of Mini-LED and ULED screens. Coupled with 144Hz native to the entire ULED
TVs and Projectors LG Signature OLED T: Wonder Woman’s telly? LG have long led innovation in OLED technology, and they've again taken it a step further by unveiling this new experience – the world’s first transparent television. The aim? To get rid of the “big black screen” that often dominates our living space.
Naturally, this 77” wonder becomes opaque when you sit down to watch something bursting into glorious, colourful life as a “contrast screen” rises at its rear. But when the opaque mode is off, it becomes a transparent canvas on which to display artwork, photos, or even home videos, with content appearing to float in the air. Connecting wirelessly via LG’s Zero Connect technology, the Signature OLED T packs the
range, we’re really seeing top-notch feature sets introduced in more and more models. Hisense is also introducing a new solar powered remote control across their ULED range in 2024, which features a solar panel on the front that keeps it charged via ambient light. No more frantic battery hunts - win!
