Cards Against Humanity Billed as a party game for horrible

New Phone, Who Dis? Totally screen-free, take your text messaging offline with this party game that aims to have players concoct the most hilarious thread of texts. One player picks a “sent” card, and everybody else must compete with their “reply”

people, check your political correctness at the door for a session of awkwardness and despicableness. This core game has been localised for Australia – as the makers put it, “to suit your vapid, fun loving culture” – and couldn’t be simpler. One player poses a question from a black card, others answer with their funniest white one.

cards, aiming to contribute

the funniest, as adjudicated by one player who’s appointed judge. Up to 20 players can join in the fun, too.

Playing board games with the kids is ace fun, but sometimes you want something a little more adult – and maybe a chance to actually win on occasion! There are plenty of top games designed for the more mature (ahem) crowd, and we’ve curated a bunch of the very best right here for you. Words Amy Flower

Cards Against Humanity: Everything Box If you can’t get enough of the core Cards Against Humanity then expand away with this box that comes complete with a delightful bagel photo. While it departed the factory entirely actual bagel-free, it does contain 300 new cards to add to your standard pack, bulging with more opportunities to be as sick and twisted – and funny - as possible.

Trial by Trolley The Cyanide & Happiness people return to the table with this game based on a classic conundrum. Moral dilemmas and murder are the order of the day, as one player takes the role of trolley (that’s “tram” to us) operator and must choose where the out-of-control vehicle must plummet,

Fear Pong Take beer pong to the next

Joking Hazard Batten down those hatches, as the team from the wild Cyanide & Happiness webcomic have escaped into the game world! And now it’s your chance to finish their comics off – pluck a random card, have your appointed judge pick a setup card then it’s up to you to bring the funny to the final panel with an ending card from your hand.

level, by adding some fear! Packed with 215

“outrageous” dares – on waterproof cards – and, of course, a pair of balls, just place a card under each cup (it technically doesn’t have to be beer) and get going. Land a ball in an opponent’s cup and they can perform the dare and keep their cup, or

chicken out and drink its contents.

Exploding Kittens: NSFW Deck

Unstable Unicorns Are you into unicorns? Are you also into destruction? Then this is the game for you! It’s a test of strategy, in which you build an army of any of 20-plus magical unicorns, each of which possesses a special power. Be quick though, or your opponents will destroy that which you’ve built. Go for revenge - or get magic happening - to best your foes.

You may have played Exploding Kittens with your kids before, but (hopefully) not this version! Very much adults-only, it’s still full of stuff like kittens and explosions, and remains dead easy to pick up, but the imagery on the cards is anything but child-friendly. The box may not meow, but it is packed with hours of diabolical card playing fun.

Incohearent 500 cards, and an old school egg timer – just add adults, the more garrulous the better! The role of judge rotates, with their turn involving holding up a card where they see the answer, while everybody else

sees a rather nonsensical phrase. They must nut out what up to three cards are meant to represent to win the round before the timer runs out.
