beautiful, heartbreaking and sun-filled music. No skips, no duds, no crumbs. Do you have a vinyl collection? If so, how did it begin, and expand? I do! During lockdown my dad gifted me an Audio Technica vinyl player along with Exile on Main Street by the Rolling Stones. My collection now spans from No Way to Treat an Animal all the way to Here Comes Everybody and everything in between. What do you enjoy most about working in music at JB? Helping people find what they’re after! It is never when they’ve found a record they’ve been after for ages. 40 years ago this month, we were obsessed with the sweet sounds of a (now-enduring) duet between Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes. Recorded for the 1982 Richard Gere film An Officer and a Gentleman , Up Where We Belong earned Cocker and Warnes a Grammy despite critics scorning the former for straying from his rock roots and into the track’s ballad territory.
