WELCOME

The new year is off to an absolute flyer. Our vibrant cover for January features Dwayne Johnson, who grabs his dream role as DC Comics’ antihero Black Adam in a relentless action blast that promises to seriously shake up the superhero genre. Jamie Lee Curtis chats to STACK about bidding farewell to her iconic character Laurie Strode in Halloween Ends , and we select the ten best movies, TV series, and 4K UHD releases for 2022 – find out if your personal favourites made it onto the lists. School’s back in session at the end of the month for children across the country, and with the new start comes a new list of tech must-haves. Our writers have pulled together a guide to the best in back-to-school tech to cater to all budgets. We also look at air purifiers for the home, and pick our favourite tech devices from last year. Choice Cuts, our annual

analysis of the best records of 2022, leads in music, while the 40th-anniversary pressing of Michael Jackson’s Thriller features in Record Club. Fire Emblem Engage comes to the Nintendo Switch for gamers this January, and the excellent Dead Space (last seen on our screens back in 2008) gets a complete remake. It’s a good month in home entertainment to stay indoors and beat the heat! See you on the couch. Paul Jones, Editor-in-Chief
