WHAT’S COMING IN SEPTEMBER?

LEGO BRAWLS We don’t normally associate LEGO with all-out violence, but that’s set to change when LEGO Brawls hits (and kicks, and punches and…). Still, it’s not going to be TOO violent, as it’s billed as a “family-friendly brawling video game”. Giving off some serious Super Smash Bros. vibes, players will customise their own unique minifigures and let them loose either locally or online in the multiplayer brawler, which will feature levels inspired by classic LEGO sets including Ninjago, Castles and Pirates.

NBA 2K23 Things just wouldn’t be right if basketball great Michael Jordan didn’t grace the cover of NBA 2K23 with his legendary number 23, so it’s a good thing that it’s happening! He’ll front the special Michael Jordan Edition of this year’s game. The return of Jordan to the cover will also see The Jordan Challenge back in play, wherein players are tasked with recreating 15 iconic moments from the man’s career. Meanwhile, Phoenix Suns’ NBA all-star Devin Booker fronts the regular release.

SPLATOON 3 Nintendo’s keenly-awaited third outbreak of ink-shooting mayhem, Splatoon 3 will take us to the sun-scorched Splatlands, and its metropolis Splatsville. It may be a desert, but it isn’t deserted, as it’s inhabited by tough, battle-ready Inklings and Octolings. Prepare for mega four-by four Turf War battles in an array of new stages, with new moves and weaponry to master. There’ll also be a fresh new story mode, plus the next wave of co-op mode Salmon Run, and wild futuristic fashions galore.

EVIL WEST Polish studio Flying Wild Hog, the people behind the ShadowWarrior series of games, are back, taking us on a narrative-driven trip to a Wild West with a bit of a difference – there be vampires! It’s all good though, for the player steps into the boots of one of the last agents in a top secret vampire-hunting institute, sworn to protect humanity from the evil that lurks in the shadows – presumably with big, pointy teeth - in wild, gory, armed to the nines combat for one or two players.
