For many of us, a smartphone isn’t just handy, it’s essential. Samsung’s epic new Galaxy S22 range aims to up the must-have ante by delivering all the smartphone features you could want, with photographic tech usually found only in dedicated cameras. T here are three levels in Samsung’s newly announced range of flagship Galaxy S22 Android-based smartphones – the S22, – the brightest ever in Samsung smartphones – with an impressive SAMSUNG’S GALAXY EXPANDS IN ’22 WITHTHE S22

pixel sensor and auto frame rate yet to get rid of light limitations and to film – or take stunning photographs – at all hours of the day. The Ultra delivers four lenses, and the S22 and S22+ are certainly no slouches with their three lenses each. The latter two also have the benefit of 30x Space Zoom, which includes 3x optical zoom, while the S22 Ultra goes big with 100x Space Zoom and 10x optical zoom. All of these features require power, which comes from Galaxy’s fastest chip yet, the 4nm processor. This power is coupled with battery life to match – 3,700mAh in the S22 for a typical full day’s power, 4,500mAh for even more juice

in the S22+, and a whopping 5,000mAh in the S22 Ultra for around two days of typical usage. Plus, charging is a snap with 25W fast USB-C charging in the S22, and 45W super-fast USB-C charging in the S22+ and Ultra. Of course, if you invest in such essential tech, you want it to be built to last, and to take the odd bit of rough and tumble. Featuring super-strong Gorilla Glass Victus+ and the sturdiest Armor Aluminium frame yet on a Galaxy device, you’ll need to be pretty reckless to trouble your S22. If that’s not peace of mind enough, IP68 ingress protection guards against dust and fresh water to a maximum of 1.5 metres for up to 30 minutes. If you’re environmentally nowadays? – then great news comes in a new initiative from Samsung in using repurposed ocean-bound plastics for relevant components throughout the entire S22 range, rather than single-use plastics. It’s a great programme as, after all, conscious when upgrading your phone – and who isn’t

HEY, BIG S-PEN-DER! If your upgrade decision is leaning towards the Galaxy S22 Ultra, then knowing that it also comes with an S-Pen that slides neatly away into its own handy storage nook just may completely sway you. It delivers a level of input precision that’s perfect for everything from handwritten notes to editing documents and images – and can be pretty handy when it comes to scoring well in some games, too!

All of them support the latest 5G networks, and come in a selection of four colours – Phantom Black, Phantom White and Green on all models, Pink Gold on the S22 and S22+, and an absolutely stunning- looking burgundy on the S22 Ultra. The first thing to stand out with the S22 range (after the colours) is the screens. All models include BrightVision AMOLED displays

adaptive 120Hz refresh rate, ranging in size from 6.1 inches on the S22 to 6.5 inches on the S22+ and 6.8 inches on the S22 Ultra. How about storage? The S22 and S22+ are launching with 128GB

or 256GB onboard formats, while the S22 Ultra has those options as well as a huge 512GB. No matter which model you opt for, you’ll get a minimum 50MP camera,

ranging up to 108MP on the Ultra – which Samsung claims is the highest resolution on a smartphone in Australia! All models boast crystal clear 8K video recording and Samsung’s new advancement,
