ACTION CAMERAS Phone cameras have come a long way in recent times, but there is no substituting an action camera for your next outdoor adventure – whether you are swimming, skiing, skating, skydiving or anything in between.

PRODUCTS

WATER SPORTS

D rones and DSLR/mirrorless camera are great, don’t get us wrong. But they aren’t built for certain adventures. Bungee jumping? Swimming with sharks? OK, maybe it doesn’t have to be that extreme... but what about surfing or scuba? Action cameras are the perfect companion for an adventure on the water – after you slip-slop-slap, of course. On top of sun safety tips, we have a few hints to get the most out of your action camera on the water.

Accessories If you’re on the water, chances are you’re going to need your hands, and the accessories you use with your camera offer a different perspective depending on your situation: wrist mounts, chest mounts, helmet mounts, board mounts – if you can think of it, it exists. Mix them up for perspective bonus points. Most importantly though, your hands are free to enjoy what you are doing. Wild, Life Interacting with wildlife is always a challenge, for many reasons. It’s important to capture from a distance, so switching your lens from a wide angle to macro/linear/zoom perspective is crucial. Stay quiet, stay still, respect the wildlife, and enjoy your linear footage of nature’s best.

Lick Your Lens Yes, it sounds strange. But licking the front of your lens before taking it underwater

will prevent tiny little bubbles attaching to the camera when submerged, and getting in the way of your footage. It's an old tip passed to us, that we’re passing to you. Care for your Camera When the fun is all done, it’s important to wash your camera – especially if you’ve been out in the salt water. We take ours in the shower... but a sink would probably work too, we guess.
