HEART RATE ZONES
Those flashing LEDS under the watch face detect blood volume changes in the capillaries in your wrist to calculate beats per minute (BPM). Target heart rate zones are calculated according to the maximum number of times your heart can safely beat in one minute. To estimate your maximum heart rate, simply subtract your age from 220. According to your max heart rate, Fitbit trackers monitor activity in three target zones of intensity: PEAK: HIGH 80–100 per cent of maximum heart rate (for increased performance speed) CARDIO: HARD 70–84 per cent (for building muscle
