The A52 steps things up a bit for not very much more on the price tag, adding IP67 dust and water resistance, a slightly bigger screen and a beefier CPU in the form of the Snapdragon 720G, as well as Andreno graphics. That makes it an easy choice if you’re looking at gaming as part of your day-to-day screen time – and the more powerful graphics chip also lets you shoot video in HDR. There’s also a 5G version of the A52 which is more than it seems. Yes, you get 5G capability, but the 5G version also boasts a faster screen refresh rate (120Hz), a faster processor and better graphics; it’s basically the already- excellent A52 given a power boost alongside its 5G support, making it well worth considering even if you don’t need 5G right away. series is the A72, which takes the screen size up to 6.7” and brings with it the hefty 5000 mAh battery with 25-watt fast charging. This is the one to go for at the top end of the A series if you’re looking for two-day battery life and maximum screen space; essentially, the A72 and A52 5G are priced similarly but aimed at different uses. If you’re all about games and video, the A52 5G is for you – but if you want more screen real estate and longer battery life, head for the A72. Samsung’s marketing for these new phones uses the word “awesome” a lot, and with this level of quality for the price, they’re right on the money with that description.

A s long-time leaders in the Android phone market, Samsung’s Galaxy range has become synonymous with cutting-edge features and design, whether it be the boundary- pushing Galaxy S series or the big-screen cleverness of the Galaxy Fold. Greatly helped by Samsung’s own industry-leading display tech, their high-end smartphones have won them a vast and loyal fanbase, with each year’s release improving on what’s come before. If you weren’t up for the price tag of one of the flagship phones, though, there’s generally been a lot that you’re giving up. Samsung’s A series phones are actually their most popular and profitable models, and their share of the market seems only likely to increase with the 2021 models. The tech used in modern smartphones has advanced so fast that we’re no longer living in a world where there’s a massive downside to buying a mid-tier phone – in fact, when it comes to sheer “bang for the buck,” what Samsung has on offer with the 2021 A series puts premium phones only a couple of years old to shame. This year’s A series offers a

choice of four models, starting with the A32. It’s an incredible little slab of phone goodness – and incredibly affordable – with a vibrant 6.4” Super AMOLED display that can run at a 90Hz refresh rate, meaning a silky-smooth user interface for the phone and in-apps. It has a hefty 5000 mAh battery on board that can deliver two full days of use on a single charge, and a 64-megapixel main sensor on its quad camera that delivers brilliant photos and video.

Updates for Years It’s important to keep your phone up to date with the latest security fixes and system updates, and Samsung has promised that these phones shipping with Android 11 will get the next three Android version updates and security patches for at least four years.
