STACK’s ROVING REPORTER

Do you have a vinyl collection? If so, how did it begin, and expand?

I don't! I hardly have the space for all my DVDs and CDs, and I'm looking at moving abroad in a few years so I've been trying to downsize. That said, I have a few signed and limited bits from my favourite artists.

GRACE SUTER JB Brisbane, Queen Street (QLD) Software Coordinator

What do you enjoy most about working in music at JB?

1. Foo Fighters

Medicine At Midnight 2. Psychedelic Porn Crumpets

There's nothing like cracking open a fresh box of stock and finding all the stuff you've ordered inside. Curating the range we stock in store is really fun and it's nice to figure out what customers are after and trying to cater in advance. We have a big range of vinyl and we have a lot of regulars who love eclectic jazz, blues, metal, and nostalgia, and they're happy to talk to you about it and find that perfect album.

What’s an early, cherished music memory?

SHYGA! The Sunlight Mound

Buying the first Aqua CD at the old Toombul music back in 1997 (the first one I bought with my own pocket money). I think my first concert was probably Peter Coombe or Don Spencer, which probably dates me a bit.

3. Queen

Greatest Hits 4. Tyler, The Creator Igor 5. Pink Floyd

Which recent album do you currently have on repeat?

The Dark Side Of The Moon

6. Billie Eilish

I've been listening to Gaga's Chromatica album a lot – as a complete piece of work it's pretty hard to beat. I'm also recently in love with Trixie Mattel's first two albums Two Birds and One Stone .

When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?

7. Tame Impala The Slow Rush 8. Nirvana 9. The Rubens 0202 10. Bob Marley Legend

What’s your all-time favourite album and why?

MTV Unplugged in New York

Markus Feehily's Fire . I'm a Westlife fan anyway but this solo effort is a bloody brilliant album, utilising his enormous vocal range and combining funk, electronica, and good classic pop. Absolute belter of a break-up album with shades of Sam Smith and Paloma Faith.

Grace's favourite album: Fire by Markus Feehily (2015)
