XGIMI Multi-Angle Stand
Pointing a projector at a clean white wall is a simple ad hoc screen solution, but if you want the best and brightest possible picture quality, or the convenience of a lightweight portable screen that can be set up anywhere, there are a number of options to choose from.
Portable convenience
Permanent projection
If the projector is only going to be used occasionally inside, for outdoor movie nights, or on the go, then a portable rollable screen is the best choice, and will increase the portability of your projector. You can set up the screen wherever you need it, and then conveniently store it away when you’re done. Portables can be pull-up screens that sit discreetly on the floor, or tripod-mounted for extra height. They are easily raised and lowered like a roller blind, and can be positioned for the best viewing angle. More budget-friendly than a permanent mounted screen, portables are ideal for home use, outdoor viewing, conference rooms. and classrooms.
Fixed frame Ambient Light Rejecting (ALR) screens have a special coating that absorbs ambient light and cuts down glare. They're recommended for dedicated home theatre rooms, and can be mounted (like a painting) on the wall of a lounge or living room. A wall mounted ALR screen can give you a larger screen size than a portable – up to 120” – and some are optimised for use with ultra-short throw projectors. If you’re a stickler for picture quality, or want to use the projector for viewing in a well-lit room, a fixed ALR screen is the way to go for a consistently bright, colourful, and high contrast picture. A fixed, motorised screen is an unobtrusive alternative that can be mounted to a wall using brackets, and conveniently raised and lowered as needed via remote control.
