up in Papua New Guinea and didn’t really have any local music stores, so I bought the album by giving the money to one of my mum’s friends who was heading to Australia. I’ll never forget the day she flew back to PNG – I waited in the driveway for what felt like an eternity! Popping that CD into the player and hearing those first notes play... it felt like it was my birthday. I remember being fascinated by the artwork, and reading the booklet over and over, seeing who wrote the music, learning about who Elton John was, and being amazed by how many people it took to actually put it all together. I still have the album; it’s a treasured part of my collection, and yes, I still listen to those songs.

What’s your all-time favourite album and why? This isn’t Highlander . There cannot be only one. Slipknot Vol. 3 is great. but so is Bloom by Rufus du Sol. Do you have a vinyl collection? If so, how did it begin, and expand? I have a small one. Started by inheriting some from my parents. It has grown very slowly over time. Mainly from op shops and garage sales. But then also from now working at JB. What do you enjoy most about working in music at JB? I work in the operations team as the coordinator. So there’s nothing I enjoy about working in music. That said, I do enjoy listening to music. And we have it blasting out here all day.

In the hotseat this month is Australian country star Casey Barnes.

in his whiskey. Your funeral song? Brothers in Arms . Happiness is …

A toss up between Fire and Rain by James Taylor, and Brothers in Arms by Dire Straits . If you weren’t a rock star, what would you be? Maybe a teacher or footy coach of some sort. Last album you bought? All We Have Is Who We Are by Tori Forsyth. She’s a superstar. Stunning album. Aside from yourself, which

musician would you most like to be? A toss up between Elton John, Keith Urban, James Taylor, and Mark Knopfler. A bit greedy picking four, ha! What’s the most ridiculous item you’ve ever put on your rider? We’re easily pleased... never want to be that band . I think the craziest we’ve got is asking for sliced lime ’cause our bass player likes it

Five words to describe yourself: ful, family first. Your all-time favourite album? A tough question! I’d probably have to run with Brothers in Arms by Dire Straits. It was the first album I ever received as a kid (on cassette) and still stacks up today. What did your most mem Loyal, determined, grate

orable school report say? I remember somehow jagging an A in cooking and sewing. My kids still don’t believe that happened. I think maybe the teacher confused me with another student. What would be your Hard Quiz expert subject? Ha, maybe anything Haw thorn related. The Dunstall/ Dipper era. Love my footy! Song you wish you’d written?

Always coming home to family. No better feeling in the world.
