VIKA BULL # 1 MY FIRST ALBUM
Which recent album do you currently have on repeat?
BTS - Arirang! It’s genuinely all I have listened to since it came out. What’s your all-time favourite album and why? There’s so many to choose from! But one of my absolute
I remember being ten years old and feeling so proud after getting an A on my piano exam. As a reward, Mum took me to Doncaster Shoppingtown and announced that I could have whatever I wanted. I made a beeline for the record shop and picked out Howzat! by Sherbet, my first-ever record! They were my favourite band back then and I just loved Daryl Braithwaite’s voice. The memory is so vivid. I remember Linda looking at me like I was crazy. She couldn’t understand why I chose that as a gift when I had the run of the whole centre, and for a moment I did wonder if perhaps I should have thought more carefully. Unfortunately, I don’t have the record anymore and it’s been ages since I’ve listened to it. I have met Daryl since then, but I have never mentioned that his record was my first ever prize!

favourites is Blue Neighbourhood by Troye Sivan. It’s one of the first albums I remember being obssessed with and loving every single song on. My friends also loved it, so it was something I really found a community and connected to people through. Do you have a vinyl collection? If so, how did it begin, and expand? I do! I think it began because my grandfather gave me some of his old vinyl, so I got a turntable (from JB actually!) and started growing my collection with some of my favourite albums. What do you enjoy most about working in music at JB? I absolutely love when a customer comes in and asks about one of my favourite artists. It immediately breaks the ice, and I always love chatting about music that I love.
