What is True RGB Mini LED?

Most TVs use a white backlight and filters to create colour on screen. True RGB Mini LED tech takes a different approach by using tiny red, green, and blue LEDs that can be controlled independently. The benefit is simple: colours look richer, brighter, and more realistic. Think about a sunset scene. Instead of a broad splash of orange, you might see subtle shades of red, gold, and amber. Watching sport? Team colours appear more vibrant. And nature documentaries can reveal the fine colour variations in landscapes, oceans, and wildlife. A True RGB Mini LED panel also helps to maintain those colours even when you’re sitting off to the side of the TV, so everyone in the room gets a great view.

Sony’s new BRAVIA 9 II and BRAVIA 7 II are designed with True RGB Mini LED display tech to deliver brighter images, richer colours, and greater realism to your viewing. Words Scott Hocking Sony’s new RGB BRAVIA TVs bring richer colour, brighter picture, and bigger impact

The True RGB Mini LED display delivers rich colour, impressive brightness, and strong contrast across movies, streaming, live sport, and gaming. Colours remain natural even when viewed from the side, so everyone won’t be fighting over the best seat on the couch. The TV can also adapt automatically to changing room lighting, helping maintain a sharp and cinematic image. The sound Audio gets special attention too; sound is carefully matched to the action on screen and auto-tuned to suit the room for more balanced listening. Gaming A perfect match for the PS5 console, high-end gaming features include native support for HDMI 2.1 (4K/120fps), VRR, and ALLM. What’s the difference? Choose the BRAVIA 9 II if you want Sony’s most advanced True RGB Mini LED picture quality, higher brightness, reduced reflections, and the brand’s most immersive built-in sound experience to date. Choose the BRAVIA 7 II if you want outstanding colour and premium picture quality in a more affordable package. vs SONY BRAVIA 9 II BRAVIA 7 II

colour, and contrast. Thanks to the True RGB Mini LED display, bright scenes can feel more lifelike, while darker moments reveal subtle details that can often be lost on other TVs. It’s also built for bright living spaces, reducing reflections and glare so the picture stays punchy during daytime viewing. Plus, a wide viewing angle keeps colours and contrast consistent. Sony’s picture processing can also help older content look cleaner and sharper on a big screen (depending on the source quality). The sound The BRAVIA 9 II is equipped with specialised built-in speakers positioned around the screen to better match audio with the visuals. When a car races across the screen or a character speaks, the audio feels better synced to the action, creating a more cinematic vibe. The BRAVIA 9 II is also the world’s first TV to be equipped with an up-firing ‘beam tweeter’, adding extra audio immersion by bouncing sound off the ceiling. Gaming For gamers, support for HDMI 2.1 (4K/120fps), Dolby Vision, VRR, and ALLM helps deliver smooth, responsive action whether you’re playing solo or competing online.
