# 1 MY FIRST ALBUM

Which recent album do you currently have on repeat? The Death of Peace of Mind - Bad Omens. What’s your all-time favourite album and why? Because of the Times - Kings of Leon. Do you have a vinyl collection? If so, how did it begin, and expand? Yes! My vinyl collection started by picking up classic albums from op shops and Sunday markets. Slowly but surely, I started buying my favourite albums on vinyl at work! What do you enjoy most about working in music at JB? Working with like-minded people who are just as interested in music as I am! We often talk about music: what’s coming out, who’s currently trending, etc. which keeps us all up to date and helpful when customers get stuck with album and song names!

My first rock album purchase was The Rolling Stones. I would have been 16, maybe 17, and it was their self-titled debut, featuring I’m a King Bee and Can I Get a Witness . I bought the album from the local record store in Richmond in Melbourne, where I lived. I can’t recall how much I paid for it. Of course, it was on vinyl, and I just couldn’t stop looking at the cover, and listening to the magic contained in the tracks. I played it and played it and then played it some more. Unfortunately, I don’t have the album anymore. I should buy it again and relive all that magic. From the Stones to the Beatles to Manfred Mann and the Kinks; John Lee Hooker through to Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Neil Young... the list of journeys goes on forever. It was like a trip through the universe, discovering so many varied and unusual planets and stars. RUSSELL MORRIS
