Motorola fuses style, speed and smarts in the new Edge 60 Fusion
Hello, moto AI Motorola’s new AI system, moto AI, is integrated into the Edge 60 Fusion. The AI enhancements begin with the new ’catch me up’ feature, which provides you with a handy summary of what you’ve missed since you last checked your phone, summarising all your notifications so you can cherry-pick the important ones. Moto AI also offers an AI assistant, quickly bringing up saved notes, websites, and pictures when you request them. You can use it for audio note taking, which will automatically create a transcript as you speak, or ask your phone to capture footage of your screen without needing to poke around in menus. The AI also empowers the Photo Enhancement Engine, ensuring your photos are as clear, colourful, and eye catching as you want them to be. You can also generate your own images using the Magic Canvas feature, an inbuilt AI tool for text-to-image generation.
Motorola’s Edge series continues to evolve with the Edge 60 Fusion – the first Motorola phone to launch with moto AI built-in. Here’s what makes it an excellent, mid-range smartphone. Words James O’Connor
Plenty of power The processor in the Edge 60 Fusion is beefed up from the one found in the Edge 50 Fusion. The Mediatek Dimensity 7300 processor is a step up from theSnapdragon 6 Gen 1, so you’ll notice apps loading faster and smoother controls when gaming. It’s also running Android 15, compared to Android 14 in the previous model. The Edge 60 Fusion features 12GB of RAM, as well as a RAM boost feature that lets you tap into your internal storage to boost performance further. It also has a larger battery than the 50 Fusion – 5,200mAh vs 5,000mAh – plus extremely fast 68W TurboPower charging to bring it back to a full charge in a jiffy.
Sleek and strong design The Edge 60 Fusion has a quad-curve design for comfort in the hand, weighs in at just 180g, and sports four layers of ultrathin glass for a premium feel – it’s as elegant as it is durable.
It’s tough enough to withstand drops from up to 1.22m, altitudes as high as 4,500m, extreme temperatures both high and low, and immersion
in water beyond one metre. Stunning snaps
The triple camera system comprises a 32MP selfie lens, main 50MP wide, and a 13MP ultra-wide camera. All three are capable of capturing crisp shots, with moto AI boosting image quality and a new Portrait Mode offering different blur effects and focal lengths to nail the perfect shot. The Edge 60 Fusion also supports 4K video recording, capturing high definition footage with AI image stabilisation to keep things steady.
The 6.7-inch OLED display is capable of 4,500 nits of brightness (compared to the 50 Fusion’s 1,600 nits) and is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i for increased durability.
